Automated Fleet Solutions works with the Western Cape Provincial Government in South Africa to provide an intelligent transport system to better monitor and manage public transport. Working with an AWS APN Partner, FuseIT, they built a system called Public Transport Management System.
The solution uses AWS API Gateway and AWS Lambda to leverage the static and mobile licence plate recognition camera networks which captures six million licence plates and verifies them against the Public Transport Regulatory Systems. Hosting the systems with AWS allows them to be more flexible as they continue to innovate.
AWS, in partnership with ITWeb, will host a webinar on cloud technologies facilitating online learning on Thursday, 22 July. Buti Manamela, deputy minister of higher education, science and technology, will deliver the keynote address.
