Technology and social business were the focus at Softworx's Customer Breakfast Session

Johannesburg, 29 Sep 2016

Using technology and the examples in social media to make business more agile, social and efficient was what customers were talking about at a well-attended Customer Breakfast Session hosted by Softworx at 54 on Bath, Rosebank.

Customers attending gave the session a 94% approval rating, with one remarking, "I will not miss the upcoming November event!" and another commenting: "Well presented, with lots of interesting concepts." A broad audience represented Softworx' diverse customers in industries ranging from food and beverage to manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceutical, healthcare, distribution, third party logistics (3PL), banking and facilities management.

For those who attended the session, the highlight was the Infor technology-focused customer story, told by Pre-Sales Manager Thabiso Hlatshwayo. Drawing on published statistics, Hlatshwayo asked how business can apply the phenomenal Twitter recipe for success to make their businesses more agile, social and efficient. Hlatshwayo then took an example company and demonstrated how a business can achieve that success using the Infor technology stack. With Infor ION as the foundation for workflow, integration, alerts and tasks; the business can use the # and @ social media concepts in Infor Ming.le to make business more collaborative and more mobile with in-context intelligence and analytics; with the single version of the truth from the Infor ION business vault.

Of further interest to customers was the Infor Documentation Management application, which improves regulatory and audit compliance with advanced control of document versioning, Web-conversion (the same document available in difference applications) and effective document search capability. Moreover, the Infor Mongoose development platform affords customers additional functionality, while avoiding the kind of software customisations that impeded upgrades to the latest version.

During the session, Softworx MD Jane Thomson updated customers on new developments at EOH globally, the new Infor IMEA region, as well as new divisions and appointments at Softworx.

The Infor five pillars of innovation: industry, design, science, internet, network, were outlined by Softworx BU Executive Heilet Scholtz, who attended the recent Inforum conference in New York.

Adriaan Rossouw, Softworx BI and Finance director, showed customers how they can leverage user communities and the wealth of information in the Infor knowledge base (KB) and training portals to unlock more value from their applications.

Mark Bannerman, Softworx BU Executive for Services, enlightened customers on the flexible services and user education offerings.
